Wagner Loader
Found an old Wagner loader which mounts
to "N" series Fords. Rusty.
The cylinders are tight, and when you
spin the pump and pull the lever,
it raises. Did I mention it is rusty?

WAGNER LOADER

Found this old loader in Missouri. Very Cheap.
Had been mounted on an "N" series Ford, and came with the N-shaft. It has a cylinder actuated bucket, and is all there, ready to mount.
The F-NH dealer ordered me a 6 spline shaft (NH PART# 194354) to fit my Perkins flange.
Intend steel brush her down and apply a compound called "POR-15" and paint it. Mount it, and once working, replace each hose. I have much use and work for it.

It is MOUNTED!
The LOADER IS MOUNTED. It works.
Saturday 2-1-03, after rebuilding my front axle pivot pin, I began to mount it.
I decided to forego steel brushing and POR-15 until after mounted, because I knew I would have to cut and modify.
The Ford N-model set-up had the wings mounting on top of the axles.
You could not mount the fenders.
Had to cut the rear wings off; as the floor-boards on the Dexta will not allow the wing-over-top setup. I re-welded the wings to mount under the bottom of the axle, under the floor-boards.
It raises at idle, and is quite responsive. The hydraulic fluid is clean. Oh well....It is mounted, it works, and this is a start.
Work in Progress
When I took this picture this morning, I cranked the tractor and imediately hit the loader control and raised it. Instant response; with tractor running less than 10 seconds. Nice. I am definietly having fun with this project.

Rear Mounts Complete
Feb 8, 2003. Welded those rear wings back on, used crocus-cloth and polished the rams. Short of fabricating a new front mount; I am done. This is a PIC taken before I cut wings, and turned them over to bolt to the bottom.
Maybe next weekend and I am finished.

Not Enough Spare Time
Since I can only work on this thing on weekends, looks like I am going to be working on it next weekend.
Loader at Work.
2-15-03. I have seven or eight acres I am clearing to make a pasture this spring. Now that I have this loader mounted, I cut 15 trees that bent double with the recent ice and popped in half. Cut them down and move the logs and stacked them for a bonfire this spring. Just imagine if I would have had to do this by hand. In one day, the loader paid for itself, cause I hardly broke a sweat.

Notice the red pallet fork. This is a three-point hitch unit I bought. Light in construction, the only modifications I made was to extend the hitch pin angle wings down and connect them in as a loop at the bottom for sturdiness, then I welded two 0.375"thk x 2.5"w x 21"l pieces of stock to hold my tilt cylinder. By gum, it works perfect!

As for steering, put 50 PSI in the front tires and there is little difference in steering difficulty, except in deep turning, then you know you have a loader on it, but brake steering puts you there.

BON-FIRE!
Friday, 4 April. First day that we had been more than a week without rain. Time to burn!

Had 17 brush piles, ranging from these small ones to the super big ones I made later, when I had loader installed.

There is something just fun about clearing land, fire; must be the destructive thing.

SIX MONTHS AGO, THIS WAS WOODS & OVERGROWTH
YOUR COULD HARDLY WALK THROUGH IT.

Seven of the eight acres cleared, using nothing but a DEXTA, log-chains, chain-saw, bush hog, and two pairs of gloves.

Next comes stump removal, disking and sprigging coastal bermuda.

Dexta Power!
Leveling and root jerking-raking with this 5' box blade, the ripper feet level with bottom edge of blade. Running along about 1500 RPM and I hear a explosive noise, like a grenade exploding. Heck the tractor didn't even grunt.
Immediately I look back to see the R/middle ripper foot hanging back, it had taken on a deep root, and the box blade lost. It ripped the metal. Normally, I would have lost traction before something like this happened, but this day, the tractor was stouter than the implement. Had to reweld and put a patch cap over that tear to fix it. Who said a Dexta won't pull?
We're Grinding Stumps
While this has nothing to do with a Dexta, it is an essential task that let's me use my baby to finish this job.
Couldn't find a PTO driven stump grinder, but finally bought this unit. I had 540-550 stumps to do, and I'm up to about 375 of them now (May 4,2003). What a work-out. I have lost weight since starting stumps. Imagine that.
