A DEXTA Story

Miscellaneous

Whats new at my site?

This site will be dormant till April 2004.  Being active army, in the 82d Airborne, I finally move out to Iraq on the morning of the 10th of November.  My winter vacation.  Sunglasses, sand, warm sun, play with guns and big equipment....sounds like fun -- doesn't it.

March 6th 2003, for GOOD BEHAVIOR - I'm BACK!  Vacation over.  Fired my ole Dexta up--with just a bump of the starter!  Used her to move about a dozen trees that the recent snow bent and broke up in the pasture.  Works superb!  More to follow.

11-2-2003 - Front Pivot Bushing PN: added Ford's PN 39-57.    Have about 100 hours on my engine rebuild.  Bump--she starts.  Sweet!

Latest pictures are Proofmeter installation. Jan 28 2003. See More Repair Photos.

The LOADER IS MOUNTED. 1 Feb 2003. It works.
I will take pictures of progress on the loader post them this week.

April 4th, 2003 Picture of loader at the BON-FIRES, and 3 PH trailer receiver hitch, with receiver goose-neck and receiver RV toter.
SEE ATTACHMENTS PAGE for the UPDATES

ALSO on EVEN MORE REPAIR PHOTOS, I have pictures of building up the DEXTA shifter fork and sizing it to prevent the tranny from "locking-in-gear."

Stuff left to do on my DEXTA
1. Install clutch pedal PTO shifter bracket (just installed the clutch pedal bushing for now, which tightened up my clutch pedal. Will wait until I do the hydraulics for the bracket.
2. Rebuild hydraulics. Mine is erratic going to the top. Is totally accurate and strong up to about 3/4 height. Worn internally.
3. Rebuild and tighten up steering gearbox.
4. PTO rear bearing and seal. Mine weeps slightly.
5. Install a power steering kit.
